How often should I come in for a check-up?
Most patients do well with an exam and cleaning every six months. If you have gum disease, diabetes or a high risk of decay, we may recommend visits every three to four months.
Does a cleaning or filling hurt?
A routine cleaning is usually painless, though gums that are inflamed can feel tender. For fillings and deeper cleanings we use local anaesthetic so the procedure itself is comfortable.
How long does a first appointment take?
Plan for about 45 to 60 minutes. That covers your history, a full examination, any necessary X-rays, a cleaning and a discussion of your treatment plan.
What if I have a dental emergency?
Call the clinic as early in the day as possible and we will do our best to see you the same day for pain, swelling or a broken tooth.
